I was in shock after Doreen gave her presentation to our class about our food supply. Remember what they are doing to the animals with antibiotics and steroids. We are eating that stuff and as we get older we start to develop health problems. Some of the animals get sick themselves remember the mad cow syndrome; the stories are true and we as consumers have no idea of the damage we are doing to ourselves. People you know that never had high blood pressure or diabetes have the beginning stages of it now. Heart disease, constipation, arthritis, obesity and cancer are a result of our modern diets.
Doreen makes the point of being blindsided by the food industry which wants to maximize profits at the expense of your health. One other point of interest is eating healthy is more expensive, eating cheap is more risky to your long term heath. To sum it up, find a health food store or a source of information that can help you make an educated decision about what you put in your body and the long tem effects that may occur. It is suggested that we eat grass fed animals verses corn fed animals, do the homework because it’s your heath. Most of all remember, you might pay more, but you will save on medications and poor health conditions.
